Venue info

Opened in 1882, when Shepherd Market was an insalubrious haunt of harlots & dodgy geezers, this timeworn, darkly panelled watering hole (dating from 1882) has cleaned up its image over the years & is now a safe & sound haunt, frequented by tourists & local workers. These days, street drinking has replaced street walking in the evening as crowds gather to sup pints of Fuller’s London Pride, Doom Bar & other brews from a six-strong line-up, or share a bottle or two of workaday vino – check the blackboard & note the bunches of carved grapes dotted throughout the place. It may not be advanced oenophile heaven, but as an honest villagey boozer with Thai food & toasties, Ye Grapes is well worth a butcher's.
