Venue info
Theres a Mad Men feel to this small, bright all-day bar and eatery, which takes its name from the notorious mid-20th-century joint on New Yorks Steak Row. A daytime list offers brunch and lunch dishes with an American twist steak and eggs, American rarebit, Reuben sandwiches while the supper menu is split between small plates and larger dishes such as surf & turf and jambalaya. Our toasted Philly steak sandwich showcased perfectly rare rump steak glazed in oozing Monterey Jack, with sautéed onions and peppery rocket; and though an 8oz steak burger was cooked beyond the advertised medium, it remained juicy. There are no puddings, but health-conscious folk might prefer the smoothies such as Triple Berry Cleanser or Youve Met Your Matcha. A decent cocktail list lies in wait for the less virtuous; the Tomorrowland cocktail, featuring Mozart Gold chocolate liqueur and mint choc-chip ice cream, finished us off nicely.
